Aluminum
cleaner for the Metalworking and Precision
Manufacturing Industry
Alconox
detergents provide manufacturers with easy-to-use,
biodegradable, aluminum cleaners to get surfaces
critically clean. In metalworking, an aluminum
part's appearance often defines the quality of that
part -- and of the final end product. In
precision manufacturing, aluminum surfaces free of
interfering residues are critical.
But finding
the right aluminum cleaner can be difficult because
typical alkaline cleaners and degreasers attack aluminum. The solution is to use corrosion inhibited alkaline cleaners
for aluminum such as Alcojet or Det-o-jet that contain the proper ratios of silicates to form aluminosilicate at activated sites on the aluminum surface to prevent aluminum oxide formation or corrosion during alkaline cleaning. It is always safer to lower temperatures to retard corrosion.
Aluminum can also be cleaned with milder cleaners that are below pH 9.5 such as Alconox or Liqui-nox at temperatures below 140 deg F with limited contact time of under an hour to reduce corrosion.
The low foaming neutral pH LUMINOX detergent is a good
aluminum cleaner because it prevents the possibility of aluminum corrosion during cleaning. Acidic Citranox can
also safely be used as an aluminum
cleaner.
Manufacturers can also remove oils, chemicals, and
particulates from brass, copper, and other soft metal
parts in addition to aluminum using these detergents:
- ALCONOX:
for ultrasonic removal of oils and particulates
- DET-O-JET:
heavy duty degreaser for machine washers
- CITRANOX:
enhanced acid for safer cleaning of metal oxides
- LUMINOX:
neutral pH non-foaming aluminum cleaner
